Thriving Places
A deeper connection to our local community.
At Broadgate, we’ve been working closely with the local community for a long time.
Our dedicated Social Impact Manager, based on campus, brings together Broadgate’s businesses and local partners to mutually support, collaborate and change lives.
We’re creating positive social impact in three ways. One, by funding a diverse range of local projects through our Broadgate Community Fund. Two, by providing employment training, work experience and job opportunities for locals through our Broadgate Connect programme. And three, through our customer networks, where businesses based at the campus join forces to collaborate on new ways to create life-changing opportunities and drive social impact locally.
Here are just some of the ways we’re supporting the community and making a positive social impact, locally.
Broadgate Community Fund
The Broadgate Community Fund is a unique collaboration between Broadgate businesses based on campus created to scale our impact, recognising that we can all achieve more together.
It offers customers the chance to connect with each other and local partners to make a real and long-lasting social impact.
Since 2022, the Fund has raised over £200,000, which has been allocated to organisations tackling issues such as mental and physical wellbeing of children, social mobility, social inclusion, homelessness and wellbeing.
Thank you to the past funding partners: Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), Herbert Smith Freehills, Scotia Bank SIC, Peel Hunt, LBBW, Western Asset and Sir Robert McAlpine.
If you are a customer and would like to make a pledge, contact our Social Impact Manager, Sabina Mistura. Or contribute to round 3 of the Fund by donating below.
Broadgate Connect – Our employment training programme
Broadgate Connect is our unique employment and training partnership with ELBA, which connects Broadgate businesses with diverse local talent.
A dedicated Broadgate team member supports our customers to source, train and mentor candidates, for free, and supports residents of East London into employment through training, coaching, work placements and access to job opportunities.
Since 2012, 890+ East Londoners have benefited from the initiative, with 571 securing jobs and apprenticeships with Broadgate businesses.
Whether you are one of our customers on campus or a Tower Hamlets resident, get in touch to find out how Broadgate Connect can transform your future.
If you’d like to be involved get in touch to be part of the next programme.
Customer Network
Join forces with other like-minded individuals from across the campus to learn and collaborate on new ways to make a positive difference locally.
Is it your job, or simply your passion, to make a positive difference in society?
Come and join the Broadgate’s Customer Network. We meet four times a year to think up new ways of joining forces to tackle everything from diversity, equality and inclusion to homelessness in the local area.
At Broadgate, there’s much more to get involved in, including donation drives, education programmes and expert volunteering. If you’re interested in any of the initiatives below or would like to discuss another opportunity, please contact our Social Impact Manager, Sabina Mistura.
