As London’s biggest pedestrianised neighbourhood, Broadgate has a wealth of outdoor drinking and dining options.
From the elegant terraces of Yauatcha City and Beany Green’s fun alfresco balcony to Mrs Fogg’s Dockside Drinkery & Distillery extended seating in Broadgate Circle and the huge heated open-air section of Baraka, take some much-needed time out to enjoy the best of the city’s sharing plates, carefully created cocktails, dim sum, open grills and more.
For relaxed days and fun nights out, we’ve created a guide to some of the best places to eat outside near Liverpool Street – an unmissable destination in London’s food world.
1. Dim-sum and cocktails on Yauatcha City’s outdoor terrace
Broadgate, EC2M 2QS
The expansive double wraparound terraces overlooking Broadgate Circle at Yauatcha City, have recently been revamped providing a sophisticated urban destination for guests to catch up over Yauatcha’s renowned dim sum and expertly prepared cocktails. Choose from scallop shui mai, venison puffs, edamame truffle dumplings and spicy pork Szechuan wonton, alongside classic cocktails such as the Rose Fortune and Lychee Ginger Collins,, inspired vegan and vegetarian menus, excellent wines by the glass and summer weekend brunches (from 12pm-5.30pm every Saturday and Sunday). “One of the standouts on Broadgate Circle’s foodie hub, this deceptively large offshoot of Soho star Yauatcha makes an immediate impact.” Square Meal
“Service [is] always excellent and the food matches it. Without doubt my favourite restaurant in London. As a vegetarian couple there is more than enough great food on the menu – if you’re a mushroom fan go for the soy bean stir fry, the dumplings, the cheung fun, and the truffle spring rolls as they are all exquisite.” Google Reviews
2. A taste of Turkey at Baraka in the heart of London
1, Unit 4 Finsbury Ave, EC2M 2PF
Broadgate is famous for its outdoor art, impressive architecture and being the biggest pedestrianised neighbourhood in London. Right in the heart of Finsbury Avenue Square is Baraka – an Anatolian restaurant bar with open flame Mangal cooking which boasts two outdoor areas so you can relax and enjoy your space and time under heaters and blankets. Then put simply: this is some of the greatest Turkish food you’ll ever try.
Mezza plates including hummus with lamb, pine kernels and mixed herbs and hand rolled pastry filled with warm feta cheese and herbs alongside 24-hour marinated chicken and lamb shish, lamb kofte, yoghurt, tomato sauce and home-made bread will fill your table with delicious wines and a welcoming, friendly service.

“Keen to sample the open-flame grilled meat that this place prides itself on, my order of the Baraka special (£18.95) arrived promptly – a mountain of diced lamb loin sat atop a bed of fire-roasted puree aubergine and served with a portion of rice and broccoli. The lamb melted in the mouth, releasing a depth of Silk route-inspired flavour that far-surpassed any Turkish food I’ve tasted before.” Design My Night
“This is the best Turkish food I have had. The food was fresh tasty and also the portions were decent. The place is stylish too and the service was impeccable.” Google Reviews
3. Embrace Saturday brunch at The Botanist
35 Broadgate, EC2M 2QS
The huge outdoor space of The Botanist has come into its own right now and is the inspired place for drinks, evenings catching up with friends or a Saturday afternoon enjoying their famous Bottomless Brunch (11am-6pm).
With drinks of prosecco, Bloody Marys or champagne (or house wines and beers) alongside classic plates of mac and cheese croquettes with truffle mayonnaise and classic Caesar salads (roast chicken, egg, baby lettuce, crispy bacon, parmesan and croutons), this is what weekends were invented for.

4. Good eating at Farmer J
Unit 11 Finsbury Ave, EC2M 2PF
Serving comfort breakfast and really good coffee, Farmer J’s field trays are the standout stars for lunch: chargrilled meat and fish, roast veg, salads as far as the eye can see and a choice of a main, a grain, two sides and a sauce. Think spicy harissa chicken and charred tofu steak, kale miso slaw and sweet potatoes then head to Finsbury Avenue for outdoor seating.
More information on the Farmer J website.
“Probably my favourite lunch spot right now. You get a tray where you choose a main protein (or plant-based equivalent), a grain and two additional sides; with a sauce or dressing to top it off. Great variety of options to choose from, great portion size and the staff are welcoming and friendly. If you haven’t visited, I would definitely recommend it.” Google Reviews
5. Hawaiian vibes in the sun at Island Poké
Unit 42, Ground Floor Level, EC2M 2QS
Time Out gave this review: “A piquant dressing of Japanese seven spice, soy and ginger gives pungent high notes, while a liberal drizzle of sriracha mayo whacks you round the chops with soothing, spicy umami. It was excellent stuff and, for south of £8, brilliant value (my companion’s rather cleaner bowl of brown rice, tuna, edamame, ginger and sesame was equally good).” The perfect way to escape the everyday and just enjoy good food, good company and the relaxation of outdoor eating.

“Island Poké is located in a cool spot in Broadgate Circle with some outdoor seating and bright colourful decor inside. My first time trying poke and it was excellent – fresh, quality ingredients and a big portion. It’s something a bit different which is always welcome and pretty healthy too. Service was really friendly and efficient.” Trip Advisor
6. Beers and good food at the terrace of Beany Green
41 Broadgate, EC2M 2QS
Aussie-inspired Beany Green was one of the first foodie names that turned a little corner of Liverpool Street into one of the most exciting and innovative food spots in London. From detox boxes, flat whites, Freedom Brewery lagers and brunches, they’ve gone on to open restaurants across London but their welcoming terrace in the heart of Broadgate is still an unmissable stop-off with heaters for when spring weather gets a bit chilly.
As they explain (in a lovely way) on their Instagram, “We have tried to remain open as much as possible there to support our regulars who were unable to work from home during lockdown, and to be able to share a beer with them safely and responsibly on our terrace will be very meaningful. So come along and grab a cool lager and a taste of Freedom.” We’ll see you there!

Their shoryu buns of soy marinated chicken karaage and hirata sauce with japanese mayo are also sensational while the Dirty Lychee Martini with lychee puree and nigori sake with a dirty touch of dark rum is a bit too tasty.
