Exchange Square reopens at Broadgate

Welcome to London’s newest green space

Discover the 1.5-acre Exchange Square at Broadgate.

Quadrupling the amount of green space at Broadgate, the aim is to boost the emotional and physical wellbeing of those that work at Broadgate and the local community while supporting British Land’s commitment to sustainability and biodiversity.

Blending nature with the energy of London, Exchange Square is set to become a year-round destination which will host everything from communal picnics with food from our local retailers to morning yoga in the sunshine. As spring approaches, the park will become a haven for workers looking to enjoy outdoor space on their lunch breaks or for the local community to learn more about plants and biodiversity. The park’s range of planting is maintained by Exchange Square’s Head Gardener and is expected to be a popular choice for workers looking to make the most of premium outdoor space.

Designed by architects DSDHA, Exchange Square is now open to the public with an exciting mix of planting and trees within its gardens to encourage biodiversity, an amphitheatre with plenty of seating, designated event spaces and new retail coming later in the year. Health and wellbeing form a vital part of the £1.5 billion investment in Broadgate to create an environment that brings people together to work, shop, drink and dine.

David Lockyer, Head of Broadgate, British Land explains: “As we start the New Year, Exchange Square aims to create an accessible, sustainable and better-quality place for workers and residents in the community in 2022 and beyond. Broadgate has undergone a significant transformation as a mixed-use destination that appeals to everyone. We hope that by creating a new outdoor area filled with green space, it allows visitors to find a tranquil space within a busy capital.”
