What’s on at Broadgate Circle

Broadgate Circle is at the heart of the Broadgate neighbourhood. Located between Liverpool Street Station and Finsbury Avenue Square, it boasts some of London’s most talked-about bars, cafes and restaurants.

We’ve put together some incredible places to enjoy sharing plates, open-air terraces with cocktails and truly authentic menus. Don’t forget to book ahead to secure your table.

Grind: incredible coffee and excellent cocktails

Fast becoming one of Liverpool Street’s go-to bars, Grind offers some of the best caffeine kicks you can get in the morning, including their very Instagrammable Beetroot and Matcha Lattes. Head there in the evening to sip on a variety of fruity and coffee-infused cocktails including their infamous Espresso Martinis.

What should I try?

The weekend brunches are open again perfect for big groups (£15 for unlimited prosecco and Bloody Marys – please drink responsibly, natch) but it’s also the perfect spot to pop in on your own or with a friend. The Grill turns out excellent cheeseburgers and sweet potato burgers while for sharing plates go for beetroot salmon tartare, sesame; Padron peppers; burrata bruschetta, avocado, corn, chilli or fish fingers with mustard mayo (these are so good).

What the reviews say:

“Amazing place to grab a cocktail. Espresso Martini is the best in the city!” Google Reviews

Mrs Fogg’s: boozy brunches and shared plates

Mrs Fogg’s is an experience like no other. The sixth outpost in Mr Fogg’s collection, Mrs Fogg’s is currently serving up inventive cocktails and more-ish Indian-inspired snacks in a space that’ll transport you to another world.

What should I try?

The cocktails! From Fix’s Fizz (Bombay Sapphire gin, Aperol aperitif, agave syrup and fresh lemon juice, topped up with sparkling wine) to the Freshpresso Martini (Belvedere vodka, Tia Maria coffee liqueur, Cointreau orange liqueur, espresso and chilli-infused vanilla syrup), this is a team who are all about creating innovative, joyful cocktails that’ll transport you to a different world (we could all do with some of that). Full food service will be resuming shortly – so watch this space.

What the reviews say:

“Friends and I are big fans of Mrs Fogg’s! Good cocktails are guaranteed. We are always so well looked after by Cos. Staff are incredibly friendly and we are made to feel very welcome. It’s become a favourite spot of ours. A visit is a must.” Google Reviews

Beany Green: coffees, cocktails and delicious menus

Laid-back Aussie snacks filled with greens and goodness, flat whites that know what they’re doing plus grown-ups Negronis and more (Monday to Wednesday, 5pm-7pm) – this is an address to add to your in-the-know little black book. Plus it has a great covered outdoor space.

What should I try?

The coffee is some of the best you’ll find in London and we really can’t get enough of their banana bread.

What the reviews say:

“I went to Beany Green for a meeting and really enjoyed my first experience of the place. Perusing the cake stand as I always do, I was immediately drawn to the ENORMOUS slabs of Rocky Road – and it was amazing. Huge, tasty and filling, I definitely had to take half back to the office to eat later on. Staff were friendly and helpful with providing me a takeaway bag.” Yelp

The Botanist

Looking for something a bit different? The Botanist’s bartenders have an extensive cocktail list at their fingertips. With an open-air terrace and huge spaces inside, it’s the perfect spot in the summer.

What should I try?

The Botanist is particularly great of excellent drinks and bar snacks when you’re out with friends or work team. We’d recommend the croquettes which come in all forms of mac and cheese and shrimp and bacon.

What the reviews say:

“Our starter of English asparagus (proudly touted as the season’s first) with pecorino was an appealingly light bite, while an Essex ham hock pie – classically presented with a glazed top – arrived bursting with meat. Prices display the typical City premium, but portions are generous, and the international wine list includes good-value flights.” Square Meal

Comptoir Libanais: casual lunch and dinner

Leading the way in Lebanese mezze, wraps and pomegranate-filled couscous, pop in for lunch or grab a multi-coloured lunch on the go (you can now order online).

What should I try?

Their spiced chicken burgers served with spiced Lebanese potatoes are things of joy.

What the reviews say:

“This was a lovely little find. The staff were friendly and helpful. The ingredients all round were fresh and tasty especially the mint and citrus in the drinks. The lamb fattet was really delicious and the tagine was lovely and tasty as well. The mezze was lovely and the baklava was the best I’ve had.” Open Table

Franco Manca: you haven’t had pizza until you’ve had Franco Manca pizza.

Once you’ve tried a Franco Manco sourdough, there’s no going back. We think it’s the secret tomato sauce mixed with fresh basil and a cold No Label lager.

What should I try?

It may not sound the most adventurous but they really have nailed the perfect Margherita. Failing that, they always have excellent seasonal toppings and specials.

What the reviews say:

“I cannot get enough of the pizza from Franco Manca. It is my favourite pizza place of all time – hands down.” TripAdvisor

What should I try?

Choose one of the set bowls and you can’t go wrong as the team has curated the perfect bowls.

What the reviews say:

“One of our favourite lunch places. We would normally go there at least every week. The options are really simple, the personnel friendly and overall very popular. If you go there at peak time get ready to queue for about 20 minutes.” Google

José Pizarro: a taste of Basque

Think you’ve tried tapas, Jose Pizarro is the basque chef who’s taken gin and tonics, croquettes and ham then turned them into an art form…

What should I try?

Everything. Literally, mix and match to your heart’s content… Although the spicy prawn fritters are not to be missed.

What the reviews say:

“The eponymous chef’s third operation is a good fit here: it’s well run, flexible and fairly priced – and that includes the wine list. The Spanish menu is nicely balanced, with the seafood dishes being the standouts.” Michelin Guide

Yauatcha City and Patisserie: Food taken to another level

Yauatcha’s menu of dim sum, steamed chilli prawns and their standalone patisserie featuring Petits Gateaux is perfect for special meals or an excellent spot in the city (especially with their elegant outdoor space that overlooks Broadgate Circle). It features a dim sum trio, followed by a choice of wok dishes such as sweet and sour pork or Steamed chilli prawn and finishing with Yauatcha’s iconic Petit Gateau. It’s incredible!

What should I try?

The venison puffs are legendary while the Supreme Saturday menus are an excellent way to explore the whole menu.

What the reviews say:

“It’s the char siu Cheung fun we’d repeat order every visit, the rice noodle casings slippery, sticky and nearly as impossible to eat as they are to resist. And prize for unassuming barnstormer goes to the crispy duck salad, a smallish, green-and-brown dish of massive, bright flavours.” The Londonist
