Best for: meeting up with friends (vegans and veggies)

Coffee gods Grind are the go-to place for breakfasts of eggs, thick-cut Essex salt marsh bacon, roast tomato, hash browns, Cumberland sausage, baked beans, flat mushroom and sourdough toast; burritos, caesar salads; cheeseburgers and protein bowls (a must if you’ve been doing Rounds at 1Rebel).

There’s also plenty of vegan options including the tempting scrambled tofu, miso aubergine and courgette, sweet potato cake, flat mushroom, hash browns, avocado, baked beans and sourdough toast.

Go bottomless with any main on a weekend with prosecco (£22), Tommy’s Margarita (£27) or Aperol Spritz (£27). Plus, Space NK, Waterstones and more are just round the corner and there’s outdoor seating in the summer. Happy weekending…

Indulge in the Infinite Yum Cha brunch at Yauatcha City

Best for: daytime dates and cocktails

One of the most beautiful spots in east London, Yauatcha City is famed for its heady blend of dim sum, mixology and patisserie. Now, every Saturday from 12pm-6pm, it’s also home to one of London’s most sought-after brunches (from £45pp).

Kick-off with a classic Tales of Negroni cocktail followed by unlimited rounds of steamed, fried and baked dim sum, soft and pillowy bao, mains of stir-fried rib eye beef, scallop and prawn or sweet and spicy Chilean seabass curry and a gorgeous soufflé pancake with honeycomb for dessert.

Selected wines include 2021 English Traditional Method Sparkling Wine, Rathfinny Mini and 2021 Côtes du Rhône Mathilde Rouge, Domaine F&O Mousset from the Rhône Valley plus you can head to the terrace when the sun comes out. Book now.

Instagram-friendly rooftop brunches at Los Mochis

Best for: special occasions and friends visiting from out of town

Los Mochis brunch

Their tagline is “Where Tokyo meets Tulum” and Mexican-Japanese restaurant Los Mochis is a destination in itself thanks to its stunning views across the London skyline (this is the place to come for a birthday/anniversary) and gorgeous interiors and nooks across its main restaurant, rooftop terrace and late-night agaveria bar and lounge.

Choose from breakfasts of rolled oats, tropical sunrise chia pudding, churros and pancakes, hash browns and poached eggs served with hoisin teriyaki and pineapple Pico de Gallo. For later in the day, there’s guacamole, chipotle calamari, maki rolls, incredible sashimi and much, much more.

Drinks are also unmissable with a huge choice of house margaritas, agave and mocktails. ¡provecho! Also shokuji o o tanoshimi kudasai!

Plan a brunch party at Mr Foggs City Tavern

Best for: big parties to remember

A plush restaurant bar area with low lighting and red velvet furniture.

If it’s an unforgettable birthday/pre-wedding party you’re after then Mr Foggs City Tavern is the place to go. This fun and sprawling Victorian-inspired tavern is full of imagination-filled spaces to let loose with friends and workmates (including the outdoor Guinness Garden, the splendour-filled Saloon Bar and the raucous downstairs karaoke).

Its packed events calendar includes live music brunches every Saturday from 12pm (two-course brunches of eggs Benedict and more plus unlimited prosecco for £52pp); live sports screenings and private karaoke brunches in the Luggage Room for groups of 15+. From £58pp, you can enjoy three hours of private karaoke, 90 minutes of bottomless prosecco, mimosas or punches plus pastries to share, a main brunch dish each and dedicated service. Bottomless drinks with fresh pizza and pasta at Eataly

Best for: relaxed long brunches

Eataly London is home to three restaurants, a market, counters and bars and a cooking school so your weekend entertainment is totally covered. But, for a laid-back brunching experience Eataly-style, head to the Mezzanino which is known for its classic pizza, homemade pasta and aperitivi.

Choose from mains including rigatoni al pomodoro, tonnarelli cacio e pepe, margheritas with tomato sauce, fior di latte mozzarella, fresh basil and extra virgin olive oil and insalata di pollo (lettuce, grilled chicken breast, egg, Parmigiano Reggiano DOP shavings, croutons and caesar dressing) and upgrade to unlimited prosecco and Aperol spritz for 90 minutes (£30pp). Keep an eye out for their summer terrace too.

Bottomless brunch with show tunes and Texas Hold ’Em country at Nest

Best for: instant uplift

For one of the best afternoons out in London may we recommend the musically brilliant Saturday brunches at Nest. Choose from Brunch At The Musicals which features West End stars from Six, Wicked, Hamilton, Dreamgirls, La Cage Aux Folles, Les Miserables and more or Texas Hold ’Em Country Brunch complete with line-dancing, singalongs, dance-offs and performances from their drag queen host and country cowboys and girls.

Eat, drink, dance and sing from £35pp (£55pp for bottomless prosecco and Amstel or upgrade for £10 and enjoy Porn Star Martini, Espresso Martini and Aperol Spritz plus mocktails). They also do sports on the big screen for afters…

Authentic plates of pasta at Lina Stores

Best for: Foodies

Lina Stores is an Italian-London institution. Set up in Soho in 1944 by Lina and her husband Emilio to feed homesick Italians authentic coffee, salumi, pasta and dolci, it’s a must-visit for anyone who loves food. Its everyday menu is full of comforting focaccia, flavour-filled burrata and juicy fresh pomodori and handmade pici served with Umbrian sausage, porcini and Grana Padano or 30-egg yolk tagliolini with black truffle. And, do not miss their instantly uplifting limoncello spritz.

The Festa Da Lina menu is ideal for larger celebrations and the Broadgate post also features an elegant private dining room for 12. Featuring the restaurant’s classic dishes (finishing with its unmissable tiramisu), it’s £49pp with £32pp wine pairings.

Unlimited sushi brunch at Shiro

Best for: sushi lovers

For brunching into evening, Shiro’s unlimited sushi brunch for £39pp is a must (go bottomless with wine £25pp, prosecco and mimosa £35pp and champagne and sake £85pp).

Tuck into edamame and miso soup; mixed vegetable tempura and chilli garlic mayonnaise; chashu pork hirata bun with ginger teriyaki; unlimited nigiri, hosomaki and uramaki; mains including grilled chicken thigh, yakiniku sauce, togarashi and nori fries and desserts of crispy apple gyoza.

Bottomless brunch celebrations at The Botanist

Best for: groups out for the day

Relaxed, friendly and perfect for big Saturday afternoon celebrations (that might go late), The Botanist have spearheaded bottomless brunching culture and it shows. The menu includes sharing snacks, mains of chicken schnitzel, burgers, steaks, smoked trout and avocado and mushroom tortellini with 90 minutes of free-flowing drinks for £55pp.

For drinks, choose from Peach & Honey (Grey Goose peach and rosemary vodka, honey, lemon juice, ginger ale), Grey Goose Bloody Mary, Grey Goose peach and rosemary and tonic, house white, rosé and red wine, prosecco, bellini and Moretti. Cheers!

Weekday work brunches at Beany Green

Best for: team meetings and catch ups

Beany Green is the original outpost in the Daisy Green Collection and you’re guaranteed an effortless weekday brunch by people who really know how to make one of the best smashed avocado on charcoal sourdough in the world. With fancy bacon rolls, shakshuka eggs, smoked salmon royale, house maple granola and their banana bread, this is one breakfast/brunch you’ve got to try.

(If you’re unwinding during the week, their bottomless brunch menu means you can relax and kick back with one savoury and one sweet brunch dish paired with 90 minutes of limited edition Daisy Fizz for £49 or go tee-total with kombucha for £40.)

A Portuguese twist on brunch

Best for: seeing friends and family

Bar douro tables

Craving a Mediterranean sunshine break? Then step into Bar Douro (warning: their beautiful blue and white azulejo walls will give you tile envy). With their food and drink sourced direct from local producers in Portugal, Bar Douro’s menu is full of traditional plates of smoked sausage Croquetes de alheira, garlic prawn Gambas à Guilho and acorn-fed black pig Presunto de Porco Preto.

Their sharing menu is available for up to groups of 20 for £42.50pp with salt cod fitters, marinated mussels and almond gaspacho, pork skewers and more. For drinks, there’s white port tonic, Sipsmith FreeGlider G&T and white negroni but they’re really renowned for their award-winning Portuguese wine list (available by the glass) and a team who can guide you through notes and regions to find your perfect match (you can’t go wrong with their Vale dos Ares Colheita vinho verde).

The alternative brunch at Gaucho

Best for: elegant lunches

A variety of dishes from Gaucho

Every Friday and Saturday, the grown-up take on brunch (£55pp) is Gaucho’s new Long Lunch menu featuring a welcome glass of Domaine Chandon Brut, NV followed by seabass ceviche, seared scallop, poached egg with wild mushroom and a delicious 200g Cuadril steak served with perfectly made fries. Then there’s an espresso pannacotta for pudding.

Kid-friendly feasting at Comptoir Libanais

Best for: family days out

A variety of Lebanese style food items on plates.

Looking for somewhere to take the family on the weekend? With Everyman Broadgate on the doorstep, Comptoir Libanais is the colourful and welcoming spot that’ll keep everyone happy with Lebanese, North African and Middle Eastern flavours.

The Feast menu is £35pp and features mezze of houmous, baba ghanuj, tabbouleh, falafel, natural labné, cheese samboussek, warm flatbread and pickles with main choices of mixed grills, aubergine tagine and roasted salmon with rose mint tea and baklawa for dessert. (For children up to 10, there’s meals of £5.50 that include halloumi wraps, chicken taouk bites and the mezze adventure platter.)

Tank & Paddle

Best for: weekday afternoon brunching and fun weekends

Running 3pm-5pm Monday to Friday for £33pp, 12pm-5pm Saturday for £35pp and Sunday 12pm-5pm for £33pp, Tank & Paddle’s brunches are big and tasty classic pizzas of margherita and The Yankee pepperoni or a 1KG bucket of chicken wings to share. You can also upgrade to two hours of bottomless beer, cocktails and soft drinks. Ideal for when sports are on the big screen.
